The will to adapt necessarily depends upon an adaptation of the will to its own necessity. Hitherto, the adaptation of the sovereign will has occurred at the expense of the people and by means of the state, these being the implements used to harnass a commanding will to power to the oxcart of truth, the oxen of which are called ‘laws,’ ‘legislators,’ ‘dictators’ and all too often, ’empires.’
